Two are better than one…..

We have so many exciting things to update you on.  I will be traveling to Haiti again on March 17th, and I will be there through the 24th.  I am so blessed with the opportunity to travel with a sister in Christ, and a leader of another ministry in Haiti.  I will be traveling there with Tammy from Bread to the Nations.  Visit the website for BTTN here.  The ministry is located in Carrefour Haiti, and it’s home office is in Alexandria, MN.  We are excited about the many opportunities that may be revealed through this newly established friendship.  I will be staying with Tammy until the 21st, and then traveling with Tammy and her Haitian pastor, Pastor Firmin, to La Digue.  We will have the opportunity to introduce them to our staff, and show her what the Lord has blessed us with in La Digue.  I will be staying with our director Ronald until the morning of the 24th, and then flying home.

We are excited to announce that the wall around the widowage in COMPLETE!  This is such an amazing thing, it means that soon we will be able to build our first home on the widowage!

Inside these walls our director Ronald has been gardening.  With plenty of prayer and God’s blessing we have already harvested Berjen (eggplant) FIVE times!  This eggplant has been brought to the market and sold. The money earned from the sales of this eggplant goes back to 7:10 Foundation.  It is used to pay the day laborers that help with harvesting and irrigation, to pay for fuel for the moto and the water pump.

Psalm 67:6 The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us.

Moto?  What’s that you say?  Oh yes…..  The foundation is the proud owner of a new Dayun moto bike.  Our Director Ronald lives on the opposite side of the village, and our projects seem to be spread out all over.  This moto bike enables him to get from site to site in a more efficient way, and also to give others rides when needed.

We are also excited to announce the completion of our first earth bag house.  This was done with the help of Haiti Christian Develoment Project, from Gonaives Haiti.  You can visit their website here.   A team stayed with Ronald for about 10 days and trained our team and other villagers in the construction of an earth bag house.  This was done for about 1/3 less than the traditional concrete houses we have helped with in the past.  We built this home right outside of the widowage, and now know that it is the type of home we want to build inside of the widowage.  We will continue to work with HCDP as they grow in their knowledge.

In other news, we are excited to announce our newly established partnership with Blowers Chapel.  Blowers has agreed to be our sending church (Officially). While we have always felt the support of the many friends at Blowers Chapel, it is now official and when someone asks us, “What church are you part of?”  We can answer with confidence “7:10 Foundation is part of Blowers Chapel”. As a para church it is biblical to have a sending church.  We did things a little backwards, and we are working very hard at doing things the way that the Lord has intended.

This leads me into how important we believe having partners is.  We need partners in every part of 7:10, whether you are a sender or a Goer.  A prayer partner, a financial partner, a physical needs partner.  We are so grateful for all of our partners.  My husband and I just had this conversation the other day, about how important it is to have partners, but we think it goes beyond that.  We see our partners as a part of a team.  As a team, it is so welcome for our teammates to share ideas and bring thoughts to the table.  When I read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.  But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.  Also, if two lie down together they will keep warm.  But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.  I read that we need to work together.  A team is a group of people with a full set of complimentary skills required to complete a task.  Not one of us has all the skills, gifts, or wisdom for 7:10 to be successful, but together with the Lord we can accomplish great things.  If our common goal is to serve and glorify Him, anything is possible.  It is my prayer that our team can continue to grow, and meet together and share ideas.  Would you like to be part of our team?  Please do not hesitate to email me anytime.

Here is a list of specific things that we have been praying about, if you would like to join us in prayer:

* Political peace and restoration for Haiti.  We are praying for a successful election process coming up in April.

* Health for all of our friends and family in Haiti.  A health warning has been issued for Haiti for a virus that is being spread via mosquitos, called Zika.  A lot of our Haitian friends and missionary friends have been affected by this virus already.

*Our director Ronald travels to Port-Au-Prince every Saturday for English school, he also has a good friend of ours Telihomme go with him.  We pray for safety in their travels each Saturday.

* We are in prayer for the finances to be available for 7:10 to purchase a vehicle in Haiti.  We would like to purchase a four door pickup that can be used to haul building materials, and also act as transportation for team members when in Haiti.

*We are in prayer for the finances to be available to build an earthbag home on the widowage. We have a widow that is a candidate for our first home that is built on the property.

*We are in prayer for a Haitian to be hired on with 7:10 and act as a pastoral representative.  It becomes more and more clear to us that it is neccessary to have someone that can teach and lead in Haiti the way that the Lord intended.  We are praying for the Lord to show us the right person for this position.

* We are praying for the financial needs to be met so that we can finish the rental that we have for us to stay in while we are in Haiti.  Our prayer is that we will be able to have a water filtration system and a power source established to make it easier for us to do the Lords work while in Haiti.

* We are also praying for the funding for a gate to put on the entrance of the widowage.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
