Searching for Partners

Ecclesiastes 4:9

Two are better than one; because they have good reward for their labor.

We have so many exciting things happening at 7:10.  We have been blessed with a partner that we are very excited about, and it got me to thinking.  We ask for support all the time…  you all give for this, or that, and we accept your gifts with extreme gratitude.  What if though, you were not just supporting us, but PARTNERING with us.  Because in all reality that is what you have all done.  Every time you support 7:10 Foundation you are considered a partner.  You are just as invested as I am.

How can you partner with 7:10 Foundation?  It is so easy.  The easiest thing you can do to partner with us, is be a partner in prayer.

Romans 15:30-33

30 Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me, 31 that I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, 32 that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you.33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Philippians 2:1-4

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothingbe done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

I have testimony after testimony of what your prayer has done for me, for the foundation, and for all of our short term missionaries that have gone on trips with the foundation to Haiti.  Every single time I stand in awe at what has been done, because you asked for it.  I know, I know, I should not be surprised all the time, but…. I am.  (Human nature I assume)

If you have been keeping updated on the blog, then you know that we have been blessed with property in our very favorite place in Haiti… La Digue.  We have so many ideas spinning about what to do with the property and how to do it, before we have the partners committed to building homes.  There are opportunities for grounds keeping, and farming.  Your prayers for discernment and guidance on who and what would be much appreciated.  The very first thing we need to do is put up a fence/gate around the property.  I have not gotten a bid for that yet, but please pray that we will have the funds needed to complete this very first important task.

We have 2 families that live in the village that are not widows or single mothers, but are still in desperate need of a home or home repair, and employment opportunities.  There are more than just these 2, but we try and focus on one or two families at a time.  Our goal is to get these families on their feet, sheltered, and self sufficient.  Please pray that the information and partners for these 2 families will come in.  Below is photos of one of these families.  WP_20150125_072 WP_20150125_066 WP_20150125_069

The family in the woods now have a completed home.  You prayed, God listened and answered our prayers.  When we first met the family in the woods they lived in a shack, on a dirt ground, with no protection from the elements.  When it would rain, the ground would turn to mud and this is what the family would sleep in… Mud, not beds.  We were able to quickly put up support and a roof, and this was enclosed with a tarp.  Lifeline provided the family with two beds to get them up off of the floor.  Not even 3 months later the funds were provided to bless this family with concrete walls, floors, and a porch.  Now they even have landscaping….  This is what our partners were able to accomplish…..

Remember when we all rallied around Daniel?  His family of 19 were all staying in a shack.  We prayed, God answered……

Madam Datilus?  The single mother of 5, that would have been the first candidate for a home in our Widowage….  She was homeless.  We prayed and the funds to build a home were provided very quickly. She however did not own any property to build a home on, so we waited….  and we all prayed.  Soon, a home on property came for sale, and it was the exact amount we had to build her a home.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Specific prayer requests right now would be:

~ Prayer partners to join with us in praying for all of the people of Haiti and that their needs may be met as they become known.

~ Financial partners will join with 7:10 Foundation to meet these needs.  Specific needs right now are a. Rebuild/Replace homes for 2 families, b. funding provided for fence/gate around the property, c. financial needs for the short term missionaries traveling in June to be met, d. discernment with what to do and who to employ with the needs of the property in La Digue.

~Prayers for all of our current partners to share our story with all of their friends.  Help us spread the word and the need.

We have a couple of ways you can help our building fund right now.  Raising Hope; Building Homes (RHBH) campaign.  We are asking for partners to commit to $10.00 a month towards our building fund.  If we can get just 150 people committed to this, we can build 3 homes a year in Haiti for families in need.  We have about 12 commitments right now, AWESOME!  Some people choose to send a check every month, while others have paid for a few months at a time, and others have chosen the automatic recurring payment option through Paypal, which would send the funds from your account to ours.  You can send a check to:

7:10 Foundation

63508 450th St

Sebeka,MN 56477

Please memo RHBH

Or, you can visit our website at www.710foundation.org and click on Donate.  This will take you to our Paypal site, where you can make a secure donation.  You can choose to do a one time payment, or check the box to make this a recurring monthly payment.  Again, please comment that this if for RHBH.

Thirdly, if you want to show off your partnership we have a highly fashionable t-shirt that you can wear to show your support.  When wearing this t-shirt you have the opportunity to tell others about 7:10 Foundation, and ask if they will check it out!  The t-shirts come in children sizes, Ladies sizes, and Unisex sizes up to size 4XL!  Each shirt costs 20.00$.  If we sell 150 t shirts we can raise 3000.00$!!  You can do this by visiting www.booster.com/rhbh  Hurry! This campaign ends on February 28th.

Announcement

Zechariah 7:10

Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor.  Let none of you plan evil in his heart against his brother.

The widows group from Children’s Lifeline meeting in the Chapel for a devotion with Pastor Eric before receiving their weekly food rations.

This last trip to Haiti was a very productive one.  7:10 Foundation has some pretty exciting news to share with you all.  Our dreams have been to be in La Digue Haiti with our mission, and establish what we have affectionately called the “widowage”  Well, last week the first step in achieving these goals was made.  After much prayer we were able to purchase property in Haiti.  Not just one piece, but three.

Proverbs 12:11 He who tills the land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding (NKJV)

IMG_4773

2nd piece of property is also the access to the 1st piece of property.

IMG_4774

3rd piece of property, it is shaded with trees, but has also acted as the neighborhood dump for a while. I had many offers to clean it up, and when we are ready we will hire a Haitian to remove the garbage.

The negotiations started in the morning.  Osmy, Laura, and I met at the Rock with the village leaders and property owners.  I had to present to them our plans for the property, so they could decide first if they would sell it to me, and second how much they would sell it for.  If we had plans to purchase it and start a business of our own, for profit of our own, they may not have sold it and if they did the price would be much greater.  If you have not read before, let me tell you what our plans for the property are.

~ Build homes for widows, single mothers, and women in need.  This is to provide a safe and secure place for them to stay, and live as the bible has directed us to live.

~ Build a community area, community kitchen, and community latrines.  The community area would be a sheltered area where we could meet and study the bible, enjoy meals, and fellowship with others.

~ Build the knowledge in the women to become self sustainable.  This can be done by using the property as garden area, farm area for chickens and/or goats, and eventually we hope aquaponics.  The women would be expected to participate in the community in some way.  Our dreams would be to build this community up by helping them feed and employ themselves.

Osmy is standing on the rock, and the village leaders and property owners are surrounding him. They opened the meeting with prayer before we began our discussion.

Before heading to the meeting that morning I was sick with worry and nervousness.  The team prayed for the meeting right before it was to start and this left me feeling great and confident.  It was an instant change when the prayer closed.  (thank you Pastor Eric, for taking the time to do this for me)  The negotiations ended up better than I could have ever imagined.  We ended up with an agreement to purchase three pieces instead of one, and all of this was done for only $3,500.00 more than what we hoped and had brought with us.  We left with the arrangement to travel to Arcahaie to next morning to meet with the notary to have the property signed over to 7:10 Foundation.  My dear brother in Christ came with me to act as my “legal counsel”  (Mike is a lawyer, but not in Haiti.  His presence was to support me)  We took the cantor truck with Osmy, myself, and Mike in the front and about 18 others in the back.  Mike asked Osmy how long it would take, to which he replied “Once we get there, about 20 minutes.”  I giggled, our friend Jason had already told us that 2 hours would be conservative.

Description of the property, who it is going from and to.

IMG_4789

All of the property owners signed the description, signing over the deed to 7:10 Foundation. For the owners that could not write or sign their own names, thumb prints were given. The notary then printed the owner of the thumb print next to the print.

2 sets if signatures were required.

IMG_4779

We left the signing about two hours after we got there.  The surveyor was on his way to the property to start the measurements and drawing of the property, so we went back to the mission to eat some lunch and then headed up to the property to witness the surveyor.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (NKJV)

IMG_4813 IMG_4799

Measurement and descriptions were written, the surveyor was paid (thanks again to some special team members that helped out with the surveyor payment) and the paperwork brought back to the notary to be recorded.  This is where our deed is now, and once this is completed we will have to pay to get the deed from the notary, so another trip will be required.

Now that I am home and have had time to process what actually happened, I am in complete wonder once again of the awesomeness of our Lord.  This is something that He has willed, and we will act as his disciples to help share the Word with the women in need in the village of La Digue.  I would like to take this time to praise Him, and thank all of our partners for prayer and support.  Please continue to pray for the funds to come in to start cleaning and building on the property.  We will need a fence first, so this is our first financial prayer need.

Blessings to you all.  Please visit our website at www.710foundation.org and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/710foundation.
